To be RADICAL, you must be courageous.

We were made to be courageous.

We were made to lead the way.

We could be the generation.

That finally breaks the chains.

We were made to be courageous.

We were made to be courageous.

Courageous by: Casting Crowns

You should really listen to it, it is an amazing song. Here is a link to the video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sz-a1j9Z1ks. please listen 😀

So, this topic is very near and dear to my heart. What does it mean to be courageous? It means to not deterred be by danger or pain; brave. Now to me, that definition blows my mind because I cannot handle pain at all. I am a complete WIMP when it comes to pain. So when I accidentally stump my toe I come close to crying. But if you think about it, this applies to our walk with Christ perfectly. We are happy at church when we are in our comfort zone but when God wants you to step out and do something you back away. Or when you do what God asks you to do and then it doesn’t turn out how you think that it will and you get discouraged. But see, God is calling us to be courageous and stand up during that pain, to not get discouraged when someone rejects you when you witness to them. You planted a seed in their heart, you would be surprised how that would impact them.

In this post, I am going to be talking about being radical for Christ. I am not just talking about being complacent and normal, I am talking about being something more than that. I am talking about someone who will do ANYTHING for the cause of Christ. See, our generation has had their standards lowered. People think that being “normal” is cussing and telling perverted jokes and then going to church and acting all holy holy. That is NOT what being radical means. To be radical, you should stand out. People should notice that something is different about you. You should be willing to do anything.

Another thing is we have gotten into this mindset of how everything revolves around us, but God calls for us to abandon everything for HIM. We need to get out of that mindset and realize that 67% of our world isn’t Christian and that some of them haven’t ever heard of Jesus. David Platt says it perfectly; “We are settling for a Christianity that revolves around catering to ourselves when the central message of Christianity is actually about abandoning ourselves.”   We are called to abandon everything so that we can further His kingdom, not ours.

The question is, are you RADICAL?????

This will be continued. 😀

At Your feet.

“Jesus, Jesus at your feet,

Oh to dwell and never leave.

Jesus, Jesus at Your feet,

There is nowhere else for me.”

This is a song called “At Your feet” by Casting Crowns. Here is a link if you want to hear it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yT6lFcM-Fv8

This is something that has challenged me ever since I went to a leadership conference in June.  The speaker was talking about how leadership begins at the feet of Jesus. He said that “actions are an overflow of the heart.” So, what you do on a daily basis reflects your heart. The jokes that you laugh at, the language that you use and even how you treat others is a reflection of your heart. Now that is a scary thing to think of, especially for me. So he was pretty much saying, if you aren’t praying for a revival in your school and if you aren’t spreading the word then the revival won’t happen.

For me in the past couple of months I have realized the importance of prayer and that Jesus forgives you, no matter what you have done in your life.  For most of last semester I lived in this fantasy of being the perfect “Christian.” Everyone at school knew that I was a Christian and that was enough for me, occasionally I would talk about God but other than that I was lazy. Did I pray with people? Yes I did, quite often. My problem was that I was waiting for God to use other people to do what He was calling me to do. It says in James chapter two verse twenty-six “…faith without action is dead.” At that moment, my faith was a flame that was dwindling down.  But God pretty much slapped me in the face and told me to get serious about my faith.

I called this post “At Your feet.” because that is what we are supposed to be doing. We are supposed to be getting down on our faces and praying for that revival. We are supposed to be praying for our schools and communities. We are supposed to be praying for our unsaved friends at school. But are we? Are we really taking the time to lay on our faces and say God here I am? I must say, a lot of us are guilty of this and I am one of them included. Ever since this summer, I pray everyday for my school, my family, my church family, my friends, my unsaved friends and our world.

I know that I have probably said this before but, I want to be a small part in a huge revival. I can’t wait to see God just take over everyone’s heart and minds. I am excited to see the happiness in their eyes when they have finally accept Christ as their savior. I want to be a part in that! A revival won’t happen if we just sit around and wait on other people to do it for us. I did that for to long and it got me no where! You guys, surrender to what Christ is calling you to do and do it. Also, get down at Jesus’ feet and pray for your nation and your school. I promise you, you can do anything as long as you have Christ by your side. I promise. Okay so yeah. 😀

P.S. STOP BEING LAZY! (: step out of your comfort zone and do hard things.

P.s.p.s. Thank you so much for reading! Like I said earlier, I am going to try to post at least once a week! So be looking out!

“In His strength…”

But others were tortured, refusing to turn from God to be set free. They placed their hope in a better life after the resurrection. 36 Some were jeered at, and their backs were cut open with whips. Others were chained in prisons. 37 Some died by stoning, some were sawed in half, and others were killed with the sword. Some went about wearing skins of sheep and goats, destitute and oppressed and mistreated. 38They were too good for this world, wandering over deserts and mountains, hiding in caves and holes in the ground.

39 All these people earned a good reputation because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised. 40 For God had something better in mind for us, so that they would not reach perfection without us.

Hebrews 11:35-40

So for the longest time I had this perspective of wanting everyone to know that I was a Christian but never wanting to suffer for it. That is something that I think most people deal with. They love Jesus but, they never want to deal with the side effects. But clearly, it says that you will be tortured and mocked. Now, it may not be to the extent of what they did back then but still, you will get persecuted if you love Jesus. It has happened to me plenty of times.

No doubt, you will go through trials. You will be persecuted and you will be mocked, if you are living out your faith this will happen. it clearly says that in the verses above. But, the last two verses are what I want to describe my life when I die. I want it to be said that I had a good reputation because of my faith. I want to leave a legacy but, in order to do that you actually have to get up and do something.

I start school soon. Well I have a challenge. This year we need to leave a legacy, something that will be remembered of us. Nothing like, “Oh, she was the Christian girl but she still went to parties. ” or “Oh she was a Christian, I couldn’t tell the difference between me and her.” I don’t want to be remembered as a hypocrite. I want to be known as someone who loves Jesus more than anything and as someone who would go to any extent for the cause of Christ. That is who I want to be remembered as, not a hypocrite.

What do you want to be remembered for? Remember, life is you own story, so write it. 🙂

P.s. Sorry for not posting a blog in a while, I have been busy with school and homework. I am going to try to put up a new blog every week or every other week. Thanks for reading! 😀
